Children learn best when they can use a variety of teaching methods and will pick up ideas faster, when they can do something with their hands. That is why completing a worksheet, can actually help a child understand the concept of phonics. Through the completion of activities and worksheets, they can figure out how the whole process of reading works. As you work with your child on worksheets you will see how they may be doing and what stage of reading they are at. If you notice that they seem to be stuck on one particular idea, you will know what it is and be able to help. These sheets are broken down into steps and stages, so you can keep track of progress and skill levels. There will be phonics worksheets appropriate for the age and learning level of your child. Children will feel successful as they finish their sheets and comprehend what they are reading in their books. These worksheets are fun and creative, so your child will not get bored, but will be motivated to do the sheets and look forward to it.

Another thing to look out for is what the pupil will need to solve the worksheets? Does the worksheet require the use of crayons? Does it require other things like a pair of scissors, glue and so on? Before you buy worksheets, make sure to check if they have been created to suit the geographical location that you reside in. The language and usage of words differs from country to country. It is no point buying a worksheet which is designed for children in the US for children residing in India. Also see if the worksheets involve just one way of teaching or multiple ways. Do the worksheets involve short assessments? Does it have some activity built in; does it involve elements from the childs surroundings?

Therefore creativity is a must for worksheets to be successful. Regardless if you are trying to review math, science, reading, writing, health, or social studies, your goal should always be to try and create something that will generate desire in the students to actually want to do it. If you can do this, the battle is practically over already. For example, since I want to make sure my students get accustomed to reviewing the various math concepts and standards weve learned all year, I have them practice regularly. I want them to get to a point where they are so familiar with grade level math content, that solving these types of problems becomes automatic.
